India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki t flagged off the 17th edition Raid-de-Himalaya from Shimla. The motorsport rally will last for 6 days and cover a distance of 2000Km as it traverses across Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh

This year, the Raid de Himalaya celebrates the highest number of entries ever. Around 150 participants, among them 16 women, are competing for the pole position.

Vijay Parmar of Himalayan Motorsport said, “This year’s rally would be tougher and meaner. With the early onset of winter, participants will face snow and icy winds.”

Mr Aditya Aggarwal, General Manager, Maruti Suzuki, said, “We are overwhelmed to see the response received by our flagship motorsport event Maruti Suzuki Raid-De-Himalaya. Raid has always been the most challenging rallies and each year we try to bring in more excitement and make it tougher for the participants. The open format and multi terrain routes with extreme climate conditions bring out the tougher sides of the participants and their driving skills.”
