Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm Rally 2016 – Day 01 update

Hearts go out to 12 extreme car drivers and 10 motorcycle riders including the hero/paraplegic Markus on his quad could not make it through Day 01 of 254 Kms from Hanumangarh to Bikaner. Day 01 has claimed 22 participants out of 108 already, shows the unforgiving Desert Storm attitude. Major reasons learnt are to be due to trippy/GPS malfunction Or mechanical.

Ones who survived did not make it through easy E:g – one has to stop 25 times to fix fuel pump issues while another rider was forced to back down and follow another rider due his GPS issues.

Day 01 Results…

– CS Santosh leads in 2W category

– Abhishek Mishra/PVS Murthy leads in 4W

– Azghar Ali/ Musthafa lead in endure category.

What to look out for –

 

– In 2W, Aravind KP, Nataraj & Tanveer on a smaller Indian made bike lost immense of time due to navigational issues all potential leaders need to make up a lot of time.

– In 4W, Suresh Rana/Ashwin Naik to make up 05 mnts against Abhishek/PVS Murthy leaders in 4W.

– Austrian riders still warming up may be a force to watch out for.

– Sanjay Agarwal on 4W and Sanjay Kumar on 2W underdogs could surprise and change the leader board.

– Ashima driver on 4W & Sarah Kashyap rider on 2W only women survived day 01 and to see how they perform today.

Day 02 – Shall see participants drive from Bikaner to Jaisalmer with one thing in mind to have an issue less day but will they???
