Royal Enfield launched its highly anticipated Himalayan adventure tourer in India on March 16 with a price tag of Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra) and it will cost you Rs. 1,78,872 (on-road, Mumbai). The Himalayan was first unveiled on 2nd February 2016 in New Delhi followed by a media ride a few days ago.
Himalayan will be produced and marketed solely in India. The motorcycle has been developed from the ground up with vital inputs coming from Dakar participant and India’s motocross veteran – CS Santosh. He is pretty impressed with the final output and his verdict should certainly do well for the brand.
Himalayan does not have any direct competition in the Indian market as of now. But, KTM has confirmed it will be launching an adventure tourer motorcycle in the country in coming months based on the Duke 200/390.
