TVS Racing’s Aravind KP rode splendidly to beat compatriot Harith Noah in moto 2 to take the top spot in the SX 1 class overall standings in the second round of the MRF MoGrip-FMSCI National Supercross championship 2014
Riding his RTR 300 FX to near perfection, Aravind gave the discerning motorsports enthusiasts a treat with his breathtaking jumps after he took the lead early on in the final and marquee race of the day at the Amanora Park Town Centre.
Clearing two bumps in one single jump, Aravind was a delight to watch. Nonetheless, Noah, who had won Moto 2 earlier in the afternoon to open his account with 20 points, gave Aravind a close fight.
In the 8-lap race, Aravind was a couple of seconds ahead of Noah all through before Noah made a charge in the final lap to close in the gap. After clearing the penultimate tabletop, Noah seemed to have gained an edge, but on reaching a tricky turn Noah landed awkwardly to see his bike stuck in the loose soil. Aravind, who had lost the lead briefly, passed Noah and kept going to take the chequered flag.
Pune-based 9T9 Racing team grabbed six podium places across 10 races, including four winning positions to underline their emergence as strong challengers to the well-established TVS Racing team.
Rakesh N grabbed a double win , winning the Novice Class and Private Experts class on his Impulse bike.
Jignesh Patel rode his KTM 250 to win the SX 2 Class for 9T9 Racing before Yash Pawar gave yet another podium by winning the Junior SX Class.
