R Nataraj of Team TVS dished out a scintillating performance on his 450CC to win the overall title in the MRF MOGRIP Indian National Rally Championship at the Lahari Resorts here. RE Rajendra and Yuva Kumar finished second and third.
Rajendra won the 131 cc to 165 cc category ahead of Suhail Ahmed and Venu Ramesh Kumar. Yuva Kumar emerged triumphant in the 166cc to 260cc category.
The Royal Enfield category was won by Sanjay Kumar. Aakash Aithal finished second while Kangavel Raveendran completed the podium. Interestingly, Sarah Kashyap, the only lady participant, finished fourth in the Royal Enfield category.
In the 260cc to 500cc, SD Vishwas and Neeraj Samarth put up an impressive show to finish first and second.
In a keenly-contested upto 130cc category race, Sravana Kumar fin ished first just 30 seconds ahead of Shiva Kumar. GR Rohit was third.
The scooter category had witnessed an even closer fight as Syed Asif Ali of Team TVS romped home eleven seconds ahead of Shammim Khan of Team Mahindra. Amit Belgaonkar bagged the third spot. Anand Kumar dominated the Star of Hyderabad category staying well clear of his nearest rivals Irfan Shaik and Anuj Siddu. and Anuj Siddu.
Harish Cheru kuri of Lahari and Siraj Babuk han of Vibrant Nissan and Ka mal Kumar Cha turvedi of MRF turvedi of MRF gave away the prizes.
In all 30 participants from all over the country vied for top honours in eight categories. Racecraft headed by multiple national champion Mazdayar Vatcha laid out three stages of about 20 kilometres at Lahari. However, heavy rain forced the organisers to reduce the length of the track by 7.5 km.
