Due to continued bad weather conditions, a new course was decided for Stage 7 over the weekend, the combination of the original routes of stages 6 and 7. This being a marathon stage with no spares or service assistance riders had to be sensible in their riding and keep themselves focused throughout.
CS Santosh 38th at 161 Km special stage taking starts from 60th position. This moves him up in overall ranking to 67th, 20 positions ahead from his 87th position. One of the best days so far in terms of ranking for Santosh
Half way now into Dakar 110 bikes remain in the fight with 33 bikes already out of the rally. With 5 days to go and another 1699 Km left in Dakar 2017
Stage 8 second half of the marathon stage in Dakar 2017 will be covering 492 Kms special from Uyuni to Salta in total covering 892 Kms. Longest stage so far will consist river crossings and sand dunes
