Bhopal: Jail Bagh garden roared with bikes on Sunday afternoon as Mud Challenge 2011 began at 12 here.

The race was flagged off at the practice grounds and seven different classes of race began. Bhopal biker Mohammed Yusuf grabbed the Overall Winner of the Event. The bike race was organised by Bhopal Riders’ Welfare Association(BRT) and INFLUX racing division, Indore.

Chief of the Bhopal Riders’ Association Muzaffar Ali and Founder of INFLUX racing division Ateeque khan said the next legs of the race will be held in Indore and Jabalpur.

The spectators were extremely enthusiastic and went out of their ways to watch the spectacular race. Some of them were even found perching on trees to have a better view of their favourite bikers.

The event concluded in seven different categories and Two Stroke Race 1, Two Stroke Race 2, Four Stroke Race 4, Open Class, Novice Class and Variomatic (gearless scooter) Class with 60 participants in all.

Arif Khan won the first prize in Two Stroke 1 and 2, Open and Variomatic Class. In Four Stroke Race I, Md Yusuf secured the first position, while Md Yasir Ishaque finished on first place in the Four Stroke Race II category.

All the bikers exhibited their talent and skills but it was Md Yusuf who outshined all by bagging the overall championship title and cash prize of `6,000. The organisers claimed that the event aimed at promoting the amateur and budding bikers so that they could find a niche at the national level.
