Aravind KP clinches National Rally Championship title

Aravind  KP completed a fine double of the season as the Team TVS rider emerged as the overall champion in the Rally of Karnataka, the fifth and final round of the MRF MOGRIP FMSCI National Rally Championship for two wheelers. The Mangaluru lad, who bagged the National Supercross title in December last year, won the Class A to bag his second national title of the season.

Aravind KP clocked a total time of 53 minutes, 57 seconds, while second-placed Uday Kumar D clocked one hour, 5 minutes and 11 seconds. Phalguna Raghavendra was just over 11 minutes behind. Aravind’s nearest rival and teammate R Nataraj did not take part due to an injury.

In Class 4, Group B (M3 & M4), the second highest class in the championship, Abdul Wahid (Team TVS Racing, 0:58:15) finished first. His teammate Yuva Kumar (0:59:18) was second, while Satish D (1:10:49) took the third spot. In Class 3 (Group B M2), privateer Rajendra RE, with a total time of 59:13 minutes, emerged winner while Kuttappa NS (1:00:57) and Venu Ramesh Kumar (1:01:32) were second and third respectively.

Provisional Results:

Class 1, Group A (Single class irrespective of engine capacity):

1. Aravind KP (Team TVS Racing, 0:53:57 minutes);

2. Uday Kumar D (1:05:11 hours);

3. Phalguna Raghavendra (1:16:30).

Class 2, Group B M1 (4 stroke M/cycles upto 130cc):

1. K Saravana Kumar (1:03:01);

2. Rohit Gowda (1:06:11);

3. Shiva Kumar R (1:07:26).

Class 3, Group B M2 (4 stroke M/cycles 131 to 165cc):

1. Rajendra RE (0:59:13);

2. Kuttappa NS (1:00:57);

3. Venu Ramesh Kumar (1:01:32).
