Subhamoy Paul
Subhamoy Paul from Kolkata who was taking part in the The 18th edition of Raid de Himalaya 2016 Moto-Quads Xtreme category a tragic incident occurred on the third day of the event. Paul crashed while riding his motorcycle KTM 500 EXC near Chhatru, around 17 kilometres from Gramphoo.
Paul was found with a severe head injury by the first response . He was airlifted to Manali by the support medical chopper but to no avail.
The 18th edition of Raid de Himalaya 2016 was called off after tragic death of Paul. The results were then calculated as per the performance of the riders on the first three days.
Nandakumar
A 20-year-old bike racer Nandakumar lost his life after an accident at the Kari Motor Speedway during a practice session. When his bike overturned as he lost his balance at one of the corners of the racing track
Nandakumar sustained injuries in his head. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital but died in an hour (click here for details from the legal point of view).
