The clash of the titans has begun and the first day of the eighth edition of India’s biggest and toughest off-road motorsport event The Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India, was full of surprises, intense action and vehicle topples. At the end of Day 1 of RFC India 2022 and as per the Provisional Results declared after the completion of 4 of the 26 Special Stages (SS) of the competition,
Dr Mohammed Fahed VP (Co-driver Rajeev Lal) from Kerala was placed at the first position with 310 points out of 400. Giving him a tough fight was Satish Kumar (Chethan Chengappa) from Karnataka, who was at the second spot with 290 points. The third position was grabbed by N Abinav Reddy (Vishuthi Varun) of Telangana with 275 points.
Defending RFC India Champion Kabir Waraich (Dushyant Khosla) from Chandigarh was at the fourth position with 270 points while Dr Chaitanya Challa (Pradeep Kumar) from Telangana was at the fifth position on the scoreboard with 234 points.
Dr Fahed was the top performer in SS 2 and SS 3 and he got a perfect 100 in both of them. He did quite well in SS 4 as well where he was placed third with 90 points. However, his overall scores took a huge jolt when he toppled his vehicle in SS1 and was unable to finish that SS, because of which he was given 20 points for DNF (Did Not Finish). Satish was placed first in SS 4 with 100 points and he got 95 points each in SS 2 and SS 3. Unfortunately, he did not attempt SS 1, which had an impact on his overall scores for the day.
The contestants have time till the end of the day today to protest against the Provisional Results, after which they will be considered as Final Results.
