Day 3 yesterday was the second leg of marathon stage, meaning no service mechanical assistance. With a terrain filled with rough roads and boulders several riders had bike electrical and mechanical issues.
CS Santosh seemed to be one affected as well. On another incident Kevin Benavides from Team Honda was stopped on gun point by Morocco Army Day 2 later to be released.
He clocked the fastest yesterday with a lead of 51 seconds against Toby Price our leader moving him to 3rd overall.
All this drama seem to not affect our lad Aravind KP who kept his focus, moved up three positions to finish at 19th among 76 odd bikes which pushes him to 32nd overall. At a debut rally with just 2 months preparation, I think it’s fantastic.
The fourth leg today is set to have 319 kilometres of timed special stage that will feature 376 kilometres in total (85% against the clock). The race is due to take place in the surroundings of Erfoud.
With CS Santosh moving down to 70th overall has immense work to do while Aravind KP at 32nd overall has taken the start today at 7.29 am Morocco time today will look to make more progress.
