International Entertainment Group (IEG), promoters of the Australian Supercross Championship, today confirmed it would provide FREE freight and FREE entry to all series entrants for the opening event (Rd 1 and 2 of the series).
Competitors will now have the opportunity to have their motorcycles and equipment transported via freight to Darwin free of charge. Cargo will be picked up from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and South Australia depots.
West Australian and Tasmanian competitors will also have the opportunity to have their bikes and equipment transported for free.
An event specific B-Double Transporter will transport motorcycles and equipment to the track in Darwin and return it the week after the event.
IEG Managing Director Yarrive Konsky said he was thrilled his company was able to provide such support to riders.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for privateers, they can fly in and fly home and miss minimal days at work”.
Privateer and factory teams who transport their bikes in their personal race transporters will also be eligible for travel subsidies. The subsidy will be paid in two parts – half upfront with the remainder payable on sign in.
In addition to travel grants IEG are also waving Rd 1 and 2 entry fees for riders who enter the entire championship.
General Manager of IEG Phil Harper emphasised how important it is to support riders and teams during tough economic times
“The riders are the show and we need to support them during trying times,” Harper said.
“What we are offering with travel and free entry is just another example of how we are working to build a solid championship.”
Entry Forms and Travel Subsidy applications can be found at australiansupercross.com.au alternatively call IEG on 03 9326 6366 and ask for Phil or Nicole.
