Indian manufacturer Hero launched its own full-fledged rally team this year in cooperation with Germany’s Speedbrain. and team was named as Hero Motorsports Team Rally, with Indian Dakar hero CS Santosh and Portuguese rider Joaquim Rodrigues representing the team.
Hero will enter 2017 Dakar rally with the hopes of a strong result. Leading up to the event Hero is organising a press meet on 18 – 19 September at Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur. Where we will get to meet the team up-close.
The team made its debut at the Merzouga Rally in May, where Santosh and Joaquim Rodrigues finished 16th and ninth respectively. Both the riders as well as key team personnel, including chief Wolfgang Fischer are likely to be present at the event.
Santosh is the first Indian rider to take part in Dakar, having finished 36th in 2015. He retired from this year’s edition due to technical troubles
