This event was pushed back by a month due to heavy monsoon rains and was finally held on 13th and 14th September 2008. The event saw same great racing and some fresh and exciting talent emerging in this highly competitive round of the Shimla Motorcycle Challenge. Was heartwarming to see quite a few young bikers in their first ever event giving the big guns a run for their money..exactly the objective this Championship hoped to achieve..getting the guys who think they have it in them off the roads and on to the tracks. Chennai, 14th Sep 2008 : Capitalizing on the triple pole positions on yesterday’s qualifying, former national champion T.K. Vishwanath of Team Anya Racing who re-entered the racing scene after a small gap, marked his return with 3 wins, one second place and one third place finish. Bike races in Chennai have always drawn huge crowds over the years and today was no exception. JAUER (GERMANY), 11th September 2008 – Jauer in Germany will host the last, triple event for the FIM MX3 World Championship, EMX2 and EMX-85 European Championships this weekend. The two European Champions are already known. We are just waiting for the World Champion 2008. Sven Breugelmans (KTM) or Cristian Beggi (Honda) will be the name, written on the gold plate that the new World Champion will receive on Sunday, after the last MX3 World Championship event. They are the only riders, that will fight for the World Title. There are 33 points of the difference between the leader Breugelmans and Beggi, but in motocross everything is possible. The third and final round of the Sportscraft Cup Autocross for two-wheelers, supported by Godrej, Zodiac, Overdrive and Bisleri, on Sunday, September 7, provided thrills galore as riders from Mumbai, Pune and Nashik battled it out at the Godrej grounds in Vikhroli for top honours. And at the end of almost four hours of intense competition it was Mumbai’s Badal Doshi who emerged the most versatile. He not only won two categories in this final round, but also posted the day’s fastest time of two minutes 16.32 seconds in the class for foreign motorcycles upto 260cc Group A 2 & 4 stroke. Indian bike racers have been making their presence felt in the international arena over the past two years. Preetham Dev Moses from Chennai who is the National Champion 2007 has now become the first Indian bike racer to test for the MOTO GP, the pinnacle of 2 wheeler motorsports, at the Zuhai International Circuit in China on 1st and 2nd September 2008. “I feel quite excited and happy to finally get to Moto GP, because its been my goal and a dream ever since I started racing” said Preetham.
