New Delhi: He wanted to enter the record books, but has landed in prison instead. Twenty-three-year-old Gurpreet Singh was arrested for rash and negligent driving after he performed a stunt on his bike on the Greater Noida expressway on Saturday near the Capital. However, Singh was given bail on the surety of Rs 10,000. Gurpreet wanted to set a record for India’s longest ‘wheelie’ and so he rode his bike on the rear wheel for 12 kilometers of the expressway. Police claims that Gurpreet performed the stunt without taking permission from the authorities. The first round of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship for motorcycles (INRC) will be held at Mysore ;The Rally of Mysore organized by Motorsport Inc. is scheduled between 18th & 20th April 2008. The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has issued a Technical Bulletin for two wheelers making the Tyres FREE for Group “B” (fully modified class). As per the 2008 Technical Regulations, the tyres are FREE for Dirt Track & other off-road events even for the unmodified class (Group “D”) but the tyres were restricted to “Indian Component only” for Racing, Rallying & Raids on recommendation from the Racing Commission.
